Artist's Statement

For as long as I can remember I have been a mystic dreamer, touching earth through making art as a spiritual devotion “Art offers an opening for the heart. True art makes the divine silence in the soul break into applause.” (Hafiz ) Lee invites you to her art song of beauty hope and healing, created in acrylics, oil pastel, mixed media, giclée prints and art cards

I sit before the blank canvas and empty my self out of expectations and worries to reach as Wole Soyinka describes it , “a mind at silt bed”. I spiral down plumbing numinous depths. I fire fly flicker from wavering worlds of watery sensitivity to tidal pools of creative juiciness. I revel in the joy of hot tropical colors, iridescence coupled with soft natural forms for brightening a cold Minnesota winters eve. Living life as breathing art the Balinese saying becomes my mantra, “In Bali we have no art we do everything as well as we can.”
